Job Details:

Position Title: Front End Web Developer (x 3 positions)

Status: Project of a Non-Recurring Kind (PRNK) 1-Year contract

Hours: 37.5/week

Faculty/Department: Digital Learning, Innovative Learning

Campus/Location: North Campus

Salary: $28.43 - $43.73

What you will do:

Reporting to Associate Dean, Digital Learning, the Front-End Web Developer (FEWD) will play a critical role when it comes to building online learning content in support of College-wide priorities in the coming academic year. Working collaboratively with other members of the Innovative Learning team, the FEWD will align development practices for consistency, efficiency and accessibility, and play an important role in providing input into the on-going review and development of a sustainable build process that supports Humber standards for digital learning. The FEWD represents one-fourth of a standard online course build team and is a critical part of online course builds and related digital learning projects alongside instructional designers, subject matter experts and multimedia designers.


What you bring to the role:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a three-year diploma in Front-End Web Development or a related filed, and at least two years in a professional environment emphasizing front end development, with some knowledge of database development and maintenance and digital learning content production including, but not limited to, app development and VR/AR development.

In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, solid working knowledge of all accessibility practices for online content, a practice of detail-oriented work, and the ability to work independently.

Experience with HTML5, CSS/CSS3, jQuery, JavaScript, jQuery UI, WordPress, Drupal, Bootstrap, Foundations, PHP, SQL, MySQL, Git, the Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate, plus Learning Management System knowledge/experience is an asset, as is competency on both Mac and Windows platforms.
